Arizona Black Bear Hunting Guides on BLM Permits
8 hunting guides on the AZGFD guide license list (dated Mar 19, 2026) are named, directly or through their business, on BLM ePlanning outfitter permit projects that list black bear. 8 of them have at least one such permit that is current. Species are as listed in BLM ePlanning permit projects; confirm with the outfitter.
How we built this list
Arizona's guide license list gives only a name, city and guide type, so we matched each guide, or the business on the list, to outfitter permit projects published on BLM ePlanning. A project's description names the species and hunt units the permit covers. 8 guides qualify, named on 2 projects that list black bear, out of 173 Arizona guides with matched permit data and 860 on the AZGFD list. Each card shows the project, its year and whether it is still current. The list is in alphabetical order. It is not a ranking, and no guide pays to be listed or to appear higher.

FAQ
How do I check an Arizona hunting guide license?
Arizona has no public guide search. Our Arizona list came from the Arizona Game and Fish Department through a public records request, dated Mar 19, 2026. Contact AZGFD to confirm a guide's license. Source: AZGFD guide license page.
What does "Historic permit" or "Permit ended" mean?
A BLM permit is current when its project page gives an end date on or after today. With no stated end date, a project dated before 2022 is marked as a historic permit. An ended or historic permit shows the guide or business held a permit then, not that it holds one now. Source: BLM ePlanning.
Why isn't a guide on this list?
This list only includes guides matched to a BLM ePlanning permit project that names black bear. Most Arizona guides have no matched permit; 860 guides are on the AZGFD list.
